Ladies, Gentleman, everyone around the world, welcome to the inaugural recipe of The Munching Dead. Before I go too far, I first want to thank you for giving me a chance and checking out this page, and for trying these recipes. This blog has been a dream of mine before I even had a chance to dream it. It started out as something fun, a chance to make something new each week for myself and my husband while we watched The Walking Dead. It stretched onto other shows, like Preacher, Fear the Walking Dead, Silicon Valley, and Better Call Saul. Something fun and interesting to do each week. Though long story short, I offhandedly mentioned to my husband that I wanted to start this blog while laying in bed one night a couple months ago. And lo and behold, I woke up the next morning to a text from my amazing husband that he had purchased this domain for me. He’s the best.
This week is Sriracha Ranch Cheddar Bacon Pinwheels, a delightful mix of creamy and salty, sweet and spicy!

The final product
The Ingredients:
- 1tbsp Sriracha (if you don’t like Sriracha, leave it out and it will still taste great)
- 8oz Softened Cream Cheese (leave out at room temp for about an hour to soften)
- 1/4 cup Ranch Dressing
- 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese
- 6-8 pieces bacon, cooked and chopped (depending on how bacony you want it)
- 3 – 10″ Tortillas ( Burrito Sized, it will say on the package)
- In a small bowl, mix the Sriracha and Ranch together until well combined, about 15 second.
- In a larger bowl, add softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and Sriracha Ranch mix from step 1. Mix well.
- Crumble or chop your bacon, once completed, add to the cheese mixture and fold in until bacon pieces are well dispersed.
- Portion into 3 and spread over each tortilla.
- Roll tightly, set on a plate and refrigerate for half an hour minimum
- Once ready, slice into 1 inch pieces, plate, serve and enjoy!
I would like to give a special shout out to my good friend Lena, who suggested refrigerating them for a chunk of time, as it allows the cream cheese to harden up a little so it won’t ooze out the top and bottom as you slice it! She has also substituted the bacon for shredded turkey and says it is amazing!
I hope everyone enjoys the first recipe and I will see you again next week!
-Melissa
